A renewed sense of character while remaining timeless and quietly modern.

The approach to this project was a simple, timeless and pared-back aesthetic, carefully balancing old and new. Natural materials were used throughout to introduce texture, warmth and a sense of age — from the characterful limestone flooring to the natural stone kitchen worktops and understated aged brass finishes.

Rather than trying to recreate the past, the aim was to choose materials that felt as though they belonged to the building and could have always been there. Contemporary elements were kept deliberately simple, allowing them to sit quietly alongside the more traditional materials.

The result is a calm, understated home where old and new come together effortlessly, giving this former coach house a renewed sense of character while remaining timeless and quietly modern.
