where old and new sit comfortably together and every room feels warm, individual and made for family life.
Set within the historic Burnaby Estate in Greystones, this beautiful Edwardian home was reimagined with a careful balance of old and new, celebrating its original character while creating a relaxed and highly personal family home.
Working closely with a client who has a wonderful eye for design, the focus was first on getting the layout and architectural details right, creating a sense of flow and bringing as much natural light as possible into the house. This provided the perfect backdrop to layer in the details that give the home its warmth and individuality.
The client’s wonderful collection of art and antique furniture was thoughtfully reworked alongside carefully chosen new pieces, creating interiors that feel evolved and collected rather than overly designed. Natural materials, bespoke joinery, considered lighting, tiles and paint colours bring depth and texture throughout, while pops of colour, pattern and unexpected details add a sense of fun and personality.
The result is a home that respects its history without being defined by it — layered, characterful and full of personality, where old and new sit comfortably together and every room feels warm, individual and made for family life.
